Blade Show 2021 Review

It was really nice to be back at the Blade Show on June 4-6, 2021 after it was cancelled last year.  Got to talk with several old friends and make a few new ones along the way.  The show was not sold out like normal, there was more room in the aisles and the crowd was down maybe 35%, but parking was still a nightmare.  I got to meet up with Jake Hoback, Hinderer, RMJ, Chris Reeve knives, Winkler knives, Tom Krein, Spartan Blades, Les George, Nathan Carothers, Dynamis Alliance, TKell Knives, Mission and many other companies and makers.

We picked up TKell Knives out of Ringold, GA as a vendor.  I brought back 12 of his EDC fixed blades from the show and they are on the website.  These small fixed blade performance inspired knives are made by Tim Kell.  He makes them entirely in his shop out of 1095 steel and then has them Nickel Boron coated.  This makes for a very durable and good looking blade.  These knives have excellent designs and are great EDC small fixed blades.  More and more folks are going to small fixed blades as EDC knives as opposed to folders.

We also picked up a handful of Mission MPK’s in both Ti and A2 steel.  The Mission knives have an extensive history with the military and are very interesting and unique knives.  Over the years, I have owned a couple personally and I really like them.  I love the blade shape and style.  They are quite cool in .25″ thick Ti.  They were out of sheaths and I am waiting for the sheaths to arrive before listing them on the website.  I will also try to get some more of these.  Mission is moving from CA to TN, so these will be in short supply.

What’s coming up!

I spent time talking with Curtis and Mark from Spartan Blades, we were one of their early dealers about 10 years ago and intend to get back into carrying their knives.  They are building some fantastic folders and fixed blades.  They are backordered now, so it may be a while before we get them.

Talked with Tom Krein about carrying his new line of K9 knives and should be getting that rolling.  These are more affordable CNC machined and hand finished fixed blades in the Tom Krein style.

We have incoming new ZU Bladeworx Ronins in the next few weeks, these will go quick.

Les George will have a run of VECP’s coming out we should get several of those.

Jake Hoback will have a small run of Suomos and Kwaibacks coming we have an order in for some of those.

Rick Hinderer knives has XM-18 slicers on deck and we have them on order.

I spent time talking with Dom Raso of Dynamis Alliance and am super stoked with his knives.  Dom is a retired Navy SEAL and is the real deal.  This guy was SEAL Team Six, I have met several SEALs while in this business, but team six guys are not common.  He has partnered with Winkler Knives to build a small concealed carry fixed blade.  This knife is very high quality and fits the hand perfect.  It has a very unique sheath system to carry discreetly. We are working on being a dealer for them and really excited to carry their products.

That’s it for now- stay safe and sharp.
